High pressure will remain close to Teesdale this week prolonging the fine spell. The light breezes will be generally from the east so there is always the chance of mist and low cloud with a few showers off the North Sea. Temperatures will be pleasant, but should the breeze turn westerly off the land it could become a touch too warm.
High 20°C (68°F) in Barnard Castle. Low 4°C (39°F).
Some of the days last week were exceptional in Teesdale with up to 15 hours of unbroken sunshine. However, the clear skies allowed heat to escape rapidly overnight and we continued to have grass frosts. Teesdale has frosts in every month, so these were not unusual.
