Tenerife is an island about 200 miles off the coast of West Africa. It is the largest island in a group of islands collectively known as the Canary Islands and is, for administrative purposes, part of Spain. Spanish is the main language spoken, although most restaurants and bars have someone who speaks English.

It is drenched in sunshine all year round.  Warm and clear seas are ideal for swimming and water sports although Tenerife has plenty of land based activities as well.
