Set in the late
1950's - early 1960's, Wooddale depicts an imaginary station in a medium
sized industrial town on a diversionary route off the East Coast Main Line north
of York. This gives scope to run main line trains hauled by some of
the famed ex L.N.E.R. Pacifics as well as some of the less glamorous types of
both steam and diesel locomotives that could be seen in the area at that time.
Methods of
construction are traditional and varied! The locomotives and rolling stock
are a mixture of both kit built and detailed , weathered ready to run.
The layout can
depict one of three specific time periods.
i.)
Middle to late 1950's BR (ER) steam only.
ii.)
Early 1960's mixture of steam and green diesels.
iii.)
1966 - green diesels only.
