The Circle of Learning Introduction to Tarot course is designed for anyone who wants to know more about the mystery of the Tarot, its origins and how to interpret the cards. You will be provided with clear explanations of the meanings of each card in the Major and Minor Arcana and be given plenty of encouragement to try readings for yourself and your friends and family. All Circle of Learning courses are written in the belief that there is no substitute for practical, hands-on experience and we ask our students to take every opportunity to put into practice what they are learning.

At the end of each lesson you will be asked to complete and return to us a short homework. This will consist of questions about what you are learning. The purpose of this is to help you review what you have learnt and also to enable us to monitor your progress and provide you with detailed feedback at each stage of the course.

There will also be exercises for you to do. In the Introduction to Tarot course these will generally be sample spreads and readings. We strongly suggest you do these exercises as they are designed to enhance your skill and understanding.

The Tarot pack used in all Circle of Learning courses is the Universal Rider-Waite (also known as the Smith-Waite). This is the pack that many modern packs are based on and it was the first Tarot pack to illustrate the Minor as well as the Major Arcana. It is for that reason we feel it is the most suitable for anyone learning about the Tarot.

At the end of the course, passing our exam will gain you a Circle of Learning Certificate in Introduction to Tarot, a useful foundation for our Advanced Tarot course.

ADVANCED TAROT

The Advanced Tarot course is suitable for those who have completed the Introductory Tarot course or for those who already have a working knowledge of the Tarot. The cards are explored in greater depth, and the esoteric meanings of the symbols, colours and number of each card are explained. There are meditations on the cards for you to use: Lesson 1 provides an introduction to meditation for those who have not used this technique before. It is simple to learn, and will be of great benefit as you progress in your studies.

The exercises and spreads in this course are aimed at giving a deeper insight into the Tarot and into yourself. The Tarot is a valuable tool for self knowledge as well as a practical and useful form of Divination. By the end of this course, you will have a thorough and extensive knowledge of the Tarot and its many uses.

Passing the exam at the end of this course will gain you a Circle of Learning Certificate in Advanced Tarot Studies. This certificate is awarded in recognition of the higher level of knowledge and experience that you will have gained through completing the Advanced Tarot course.
