Sampling tapas in the bustling old town area of Benidorm is very popular with the Spanish and a great experience. Calpe has a large fishing port lined with restaurants and is a must for seafood lovers Just a few miles inland the mountains rise majestically hiding lush valleys and mountain top villages such as Guadalest. The waterfalls at Font d’Algar are well worth a visit with their cool rushing streams and shady footpaths. It is worth mentioning that all the towns in the area have weekly outdoor markets with Moraira having one of the best on Friday mornings in the main car park. The historic cities of Alicante, Valencia and Murcia are ideal for a longer excursion.
