Cambrian Ornithological SocietyWe need your recordsWe collect birds records for the north-west Wales area - the new counties of Anglesey, Gwynedd and the western half of Conwy. We publish annual bird records in the Cambrian Bird Report. Records for the 2003 report are needed now. Please submit them as soon as possible, no later than the end of February 2004. Since local government boundaries change every so often, we use the Vice-Counties system. The area is divided into three Vice-counties. Anglesey Caernarfon Meirionnydd Why submit records? We regularly receive requests for information about sites for which "development" is proposed. If we can show that that area is important for birds this can have a considerable influence on bodies such as the National Assembly and the county councils which have to approve the proposed development. If you do not submit records and your favourite site ends up covered in concrete it will be partly your fault! What sort of records are needed?Click here for a list of the birds likely to be found in the area and a summary of the sort of records required for each. Where should I send the records?Send the records to the appropriate County Recorder. These are: Anglesey: Steve Culley, Mill House, Penmynydd Road, Menai Bridge, Anglesey LL59 5RT Caernarfon: John Barnes, Fach Goch, Waunfawr, Caernarfon, Gwynedd LL55 4YS Meirionnydd: Dave Smith, 3 Smithfield Lane, Dolgellau, Gwynedd LL40 1BU Can I submit records by e-mail?
