4th Generation
William Henry Barnard was born 27th November 1861.He worked as an upholsterer. He was married in St James Church in Gloucester 1st February 1891 to Adrienne (Ida). William died 5th March 1917 in Bristol aged 66, he was living at 90,Ashley Road. He had two daughters Annie Violet and Mabel who had moved to London to whom he left £144.5s 11d to share between them.Clara Hannah Barnard Born in Gloucester 1863. She married William John Hamblin in June quarter of 1886 in Gloucester. They had three children William Wilton, Margaret Roselind and Elsie Gertrude.
Harry Seamons Barnard born 1868 in Gloucester. He died in Gloucester March quarter of 1922. He married (Mary) Elizabeth Chandler 7th September 1889 as ba. They only had one child Florence May in June quarter 1906 in Gloucester.
My great great grandfather Walter Thomas Barnard was born 17th June 1870 in Gloucester.He was christened in St Catherine's Church, Gloucester City. Walter married Vinnia Rose Williams born 1869 Gloucester to a house carpenter. They married in St Michaels Church, Gloucester 3rd August 1891. They moved around from Gloucester, to Stroud, back to Gloucester and then onto Bristol, the reason for this is yet unknown.
Vinnia sadly died aged 42. She was trimming an oil lamp and the lace on her dress caught fire. She used an oily rag she had been using to try to put it out, this only made things worse and she was a mass of flames that her husband and son extinguished but died seven days later on 6th May 1912 in Easton, Bristol.
They had a few children Edward Walter,Arthur Henry, William Frederick George, Stanley Wilton and Capel being five that I am aware of.
Arthur George Burnard born and christened in November 1872 in Hereford. Arthur was a tailor and married Elizabeth Alice Hurd.Arthur brought a tailor aand outfitter shop in Stapleton Road, Bristol probably about1906, and he owned it until his death in December quarter of 1943. Their children were Leonard, Cecil Frederick and Avis Kathleen.
Sarah Mary Barnard born Hereford 1875 and christened in St Catherine's in Gloucester 15th August 1875. She had a son in 1893, who was looked after by Harry until after the 1901 census. She married James Morrison 25th August 1894 in St Michaels Church, Gloucester.
George born 1878 in Gloucester. He became a hairdresser and tobacconist. He was probably the first to own a shop in Bristol in 1903. He married Avis, but had no children. He died about 1963.
Florence and Charles,twins born December quarter of 1881 in Gloucester.They were both christened 19th December 1881. Sadly they died shortly after. Their births and deaths were registered in March 1882, (the six week rule).
Fred Wilton born 1885, was christened in 19th February 1885 in St Michaels Church. He moved to Bristol probably in 1912 and became hairdresser and bookey amongst others.He married Elsie Agnes Brinkworth who was born 1894 and died 1986. They only had one child Alan Wilton Burnard.
