A link has been added to CyberBass, an American-based site that describes itself as "innovative learning for choral singers". It is a collection of MIDI tutorials designed to help choristers get to grips with the soprano, alto, tenor and bass parts of many choral works. Software is required to make use of the site, which has digitised choral scores into MIDI format to represent the pitches and rhythms of choral parts. Many major choral works are covered by the site, including Handel's "Messiah", Bach's "Mass in B minor", "The Creation" by Haydn and other works that might be considered to be staples of the choral repertoire. On selecting the work, visitors can access sections of the works, and can either listen to all parts at once or pick out the individual part they are interested in. The sections within the works have been graded according to difficulty. In addition to the major works section, there is a Christmas-themed section of works, a section of links to other choral MIDI sites, a section of vocal exercises that includes suitable exercises for warm-ups, links to choirs all over the world , news of forthcoming CyberBass projects, and an area where choristers may communicate with one another.
