Camera Scope Observatory

This camera is one of two both identical in every way except one is fitted with the ICX424AL b/w chip the other with the ICX424AQ6 colour known as the SC3. They first started life as a Vesta 680.It was first modified within 3 months of the first Steve Chambers modification and was peltier cooled with the amp off mod and known as the SC2 It has recently (June 2003) been remodified to how you see it now with all the original features of the first mod, but with an improved peltier design .The alluminium front you see to the camera is the cold finger,the ccd board is behind it ,but the ccd is mounted on doubled up headers, which are just shy of the front surface of the alluminium by 1/1000" .The camera reaches -28c in 24c ambient temp. in 20 min.
