“It’s In The Square” 2002 From as early as January, preparations began for the ‘In The Square’ music and arts event of 2002. In it’s second year of running estimated spectator figures reached as many 600 people at any one time. This was a great achievement for Wolverton Music & Arts- Events Team and for the community of Wolverton itself. Other than the Lantern Festival, and this year the MADCAP production, ‘Its In The Square’ is the only event to take place in or on ‘The Square’ Performers included Twisted Fate, Wolverton Town Band, Hipsway Belly Dancers, The Tramline Stompers, Trojan Fire, Shades of Malcolm, Bushfield Middle School and React Theatre Group. Soloists such as Amy Leanne, Rod Ayre and Michele Welborn also appeared at the 2-day event. Surrounding The Square were sideshows, small fair ground rides, bouncy castles, competitions and craft stalls.
