The Whitstable Echo is a Talking Newspaper for the Blind and visually impaired and is the weekly paper produced by the Whitstable Talking Newspaper organisation. This is a member of The National Talking Newspaper Association of the United Kingdom (TNAUK) We provide just under 100 copies of our paper each week to the blind and visually impaired residents of Whitstable and surrounding area. The work in producing the paper is undertaken by a volunteer team of about 70 people. Our paper is distributed, free of charge by Royal Mail, and is produced on audio cassettes of 90 minutes duration and consists of 45 minutes of news and 45 minutes of magazine content.
