         PARISH ELECTIONS
Held on Thursday 7 th. June 2001
Milton Keynes Labour Party put forward enough candidates in the June 2001 West Bletchley Parish Council Elections to control the 27 member council. In a largely unpublicised election, the other candidates included 10 members of the preceding Neighbourhood Council. 8 of the latter were re-elected with one other independent. The remaining 18 are Labour nominees.

After Government Legislation Parish Council Elections were held on Thursday 7 th. June 2001.

The Parish Wards are
    Castles
    Church Green
    Denbigh North East
    Denbigh North West
    Denbigh West
    Fairways
    Poets
    Racecourses
    Rivers
    Saints

Two candidates A. Mabbott & E. Cambell did not actually live in West Bletchley. (They are both also standing for another Parish Council.) A. Mabbott was defeated but E. Campbell was elected unopposed. Only the Church Green, Denbigh North East, Denbigh West, Poets,Rivers & Saints wards were contested. Even before the election, there were enough uncontested Labour and Labour nominated seats to control the council. In Church Green ward one candidate had the misfortune of being fourth in a three cornered contest having less votes than the blank ballot forms. The first meeting of the new council was held at the Frank Moran Centre on 19 th. June
