Home Farm Depot Corys now have a seven year contract for the use of this depot. This was followed by a decision to exclude the bridge originally to be built on this site from the Local Plan. There is still some doubt as a grant for the bridge has been approved. However, some Milton Keynes councillors wish to see the site used for housing. In either case it would be possible for Milton Keynes Council to terminate Cory's lease with due notice.  West Bletchley Parish Council has also requested early termination in favour of alternative use.

Following the original decision by the Traffic Commisioners to allow Cory to continue to use Home Farm Depot on Sherwood Drive for refuse lorries representatives of Bletchley Park Residents met with Milton Keynes Council representatives. Following the meeting, the Residents' Association sought further assurances.

These matters were raised at a meeting between Cory representatives and 30 residents on 31 st. May
The former made clear that the regulations by Traffic Commissioners only applied to the 36 HGV Refuse Collection Vehicles covered by their licence. It seems that since the meeting some problems have been alleviated.

Graham Baxendale of Corys is dealing with these matters. He can be contacted on 07740061248

On the 5 th. February the Chairman and Treasurer of Bletchley Park Residents met with Cllr. R. Bristow and with officers J. Best, A, Hudson & T. Dove of Milton Keynes Council. It was suggested that the depot was not large enough. The only immediate result was a proposal for a meeting with Cory H.Q. staff and the temporary disappearance of operative's parked cars from Whalley Drive,

The Neighbourhood Council and Bletchley Park Residents objected to earlier proposals by Milton Keynes Council for the storage of vehicles at Home Farm, Sherwood Drive pointing to the effect on traffic on Sherwood Drive at certain times of the day. This proposal was withdrawn.

It is sad that this was the subject of another application for use as a depot for refuse lorries. It was expected that a good number of our local residents would have objected. Apparently, at least one resident had his objection rejected because his letter does not specifically say he occupies his house. As a result of objections, a public enquiry was held in Luton on 1 st. December. 'Valid' objectors were able to make representations to the enquiry. It seems that few of these attended (possibly due to reasons stated above). The Commisioners decision was to grant a licence for Corys to continue to operate. If they break any of the conditions, which are the same as before, they can be taken to court. Smaller operating vehicles are not covered by the terms of the licence.

Please inform Bletchley Park Residents Association if refuse lorries turn into Whalley Drive when it is not collection day. Car parking is not covered but Corys have indicated that they intend to provide employee parking within the depot as soon as possible.
