Green Corridors Some time ago West Bletchley Neighbourhood Council proposed a series of green corridors through West Bletchley. These would utilise existing publicly owned open space to link together the various residential areas of West Bletchley. Each corridor would have a footpath/cycleway similar to redways in the remainder of Milton Keynes. SUSTRANS have produced a provisional plan for this network which would link to the national cycle network.

However, the main intention was to provide landscaped areas of open space. It is anticipated that these would be at least 30 feet wide as an insurance against over-development, to provide local play and recreation and as a route for animal migration through the most densely developed urban area in Milton Keynes. Regrettably, the opportunity has already been lost in the case of the housing on the site of Denbigh school and no provision has been in the proposals for Bletchley Park. Although Milton Keynes Council have accepted this proposal as totally in line with their policies on sustainable transport and the environment, they claim that they have no resources to support it.
