In order to assist everyone who buys records or CD’s from me I have decided to introduce a set of standards-similar to the Record Collector Magazine

MINT-The record itself is brand new, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality, the cover, lyric sheets etc will be perfect.

EXCELLENT – The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. The cover & packaging might have slight wear & or creasing.

VERY GOOD – the record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks & the odd slight scratch. Normal wear & tear on the cover or extra items but without any major defects.

GOOD – The record has played been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion & mild scratches. The cover & contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, possibly splits to the spine, discoloration etc

I will not sell a record in worse condition than good UNLESS it is a very rare item & is to be used for a collection filler.

As a general rule, CD’s will either play perfectly- in which case they will be as near to mint as possible- or they don’t in which case they will not be up for sale. The casing may suffer from cracks or scuffing, which can be replaced. The inlay cards etc will be subject to the same standards as records.

If you have any comments to make regarding this scheme or how to improve upon it then please feel free to email me.
