Do it go ?

I then bought an 850cc engine, gearbox and back axle.
Which was a definite runner and had
less miles on it.
This was fitted using angle iron and the original rubber mounts.

In Bicycle Repair Man's Shed

Once all the tubes where in place and welded the Jig was removed and cut up the axle and front end replaced I then could get every thing else fitted.
Of which these parts where included,a pair of 2CV headlamps,a 1957 Field Marshall Tractor seat,a pair of shocks from an unknown bike
About this time I ran out of money
(on the Dole) and had to go to work
I then shipped the whole thing out to another mate of mine to finish.
After much cursing and cussing the Frame, engine, backaxle and most of the other parts were gathered in one place.

Radiator was placed at the back

While it was at BRM's(Rick,s)the trike gained more and more parts some that I had thought of others I hadn't.
Eventually it was ready and the day arrived for me to collect it,
It took 3 of us to lift the damn thing over the garden gate and assemble the rest of the parts ie:
alloy wheels.
(Another friend Bullet came to help
and had to sit on the back to get home)
So the first ride went like this,
Stall,Miss wall by Gnats willy,Pullout in front of speeding landrover,Overheat, refill,Overheat, refill,Overheat Throw thermostat away, refill, drop Bullet off,get home.

Rear of the year

Rick,Grouch,Alan,Brian all did a brilliant job and I think that it's a brilliant Trike.
My Thanks to them all.
A special thanx to Colette and the
children, Zac and Abby for putting up with me raving about the trike(I still do).

Progress is a wonderful thing

Evolution
The reliant engine was pretty good, apart from a few points the head was warped and kept blowing head gaskets a new engine was purchased an 850 this time and that was OK but the inlet manifold had a habit of freezing so I used some 8mm copper pipe to make a coil that was attached to the heater inlet at the water pump and the head outlet this was attached to the inlet manifold and covered in neoprene, that did the job.

At home after first ride

For the next year I had almost no trouble with the Trike and it only let me down once when a hose burst
I went to the Bulldog, the south an,west and numerous smaller bike orientated events.
In april of 2001 the clutch cable
broke and I had to ride home in first gear after much sodding about
I discovered that I had blown the head gasket and the head was warped,I had hoped that it would see me through another summer but alas this was not to be.
