The Rhondda Aikido Club was founded in 1980 by Eddie Blainey and Lee Davies both former members of the Aikikai.The Club is now a member of the Shin-Gi-Tai Association and British Aikido Board.
Sensei Lee Davies (5th Dan) taught the adult class at the Ystrad Old Age Hall, he had studyed Aikido for over 35 years and taught for over 25 years.He studied under Ken Williams,Eddie Blainey,Tamura and Shihian Gwynne Jones(Founder of the Shin-Gi-Tai) up untill his sudden death in 2005.
Selwyn Bowen(5th Dan)Theresa Davies (3rd Dan)Kirsty Parfitt (2nd Dan)and Clive Price (2nd Dan)all hold British Aikido Board Coaching Certificates and are now the instructors of the club.
