About three years ago I found that I had quite a bit of spare time on my hands after finally writing up and submitting my PhD thesis, which all in all took me three years labwork and around a year of writing after coming home from work each night. Having been so busy, all this free time seemed too good to waste and I decided to indulge two long standing but neglected interests, photography and art. Having just moved to London the inspiration for subject matter was everywhere I turned. I was particularly struck by the variety of ways people make a living as street artists on London streets and decided to concentrate on these as subjects. I chose to use, mainly, coloured pencils because of their versatility. Eventually I hope to complete a set of fifty or so London street scenes to be compiled into a book of prints. Some of my efforts are displayed on this site.
