We are now both retired and after all the years detecting we are as enthusiastic as ever. I have updated to a White's XLT E Series and I'm using programs from the Bob Bailey web site. Mary is now using a Laser Rapier with much success, recently we attended a Rally and she won a Laser Scout. She has stated that this machine is a pleasure to use and already has found hammered silver coins with it. We also use a Gold Mountain 1650 which Mary won at one of the excellent Newbury Rallies. We now own six detectors beteen us, we appreciate that you can only use one at a time but it's specialist machines for special site conditions. We are both involved with our local village club, Warsop Metal Detector Society, of which we are Treasurer and Secretary. We are a small but active group with 40 members and have made some excellent finds during the past 12 months. I suppose I, Brian, will always be remembered for dressing as Friar Tuck at the "Robin Hood" rallies we organised in 1992/3. I'm now pleased to report that the Friar Tuck dress was out again to promote another "Robin Hood" rally which took place on the 11th/12th September 2004. When a good time was had by all and the adopted charity "The Notts and Lincs Air Ambulance received a donation from the rally for £3,125.00. Look out for another event in 2006!!!
