This is the gate Father Lonergan jumped over after hearing about the fight in the town while the much younger Father Paul opens the gate and walks through, if you turn your back to the gate the left hand corner of the building near you is where Father Paul says "Shouldn't we put a stop to it Father, "Ah yes , lad, yes we should, it's our duty. But father Lonergan was more interested in watching the fight and it's punches than trying to stop it.
