The aftermath of the barbaric terrorists attack on the World Trade Centre in New York on Tuesday September 11 and the Pentagon near Washington together with the crash of a fourth hijacked plane in Pennsylvania. In which thousands of innocent Americans and other people from around the world lost their lives. Yet in the past we have seen America rise up, as she will rise again. Up out of the ashes of disaster to rise up and become a great nation once again. One thing that they must remember is that our hearts and hopes are with them and if the time comes for war we will be standing right there next to you.
When I saw the sentiment that June Parker Beck had put in this guest-book I just knew I had to put it on this page it is so moving.
I just can't thank
you enough for publishing that wonderful recitation of John Wayne's "America -
Why I love her." I can't help but wonder if he were still with us, what comfort
he would have offered to the victims, their families, and the brave rescue teams
who sacrificed their lives to save others. Perhaps he would say exactly what
that verse says; he would want us to reinforce our love for our country. As his
dear friend, Maureen O'Hara, told the Immigration Foundation when she was
honoured last July, "We are all citizens of the world." That is so true,
especially now as we unite against such evil that exists in our world.
Thanks June.
