Stuart studied at Leicester Polytchnic,(now De Montfort University), between 1985 and 1989. He met some good friends there and they are still friends today. After graduation day, they went on a month long holiday around Europe. In the present day, most of them are now married with children. They all meet up at least once a year at Christmas in Leicester.

Cheryl is Steve's wife and Jacob's godmother, and we see a lot of her now that they live so close. She is a good friend and helped a lot when Annie was born.

Frances is Sonny's wife and is also a good friend. They have a daughter, Jemma, who is a year younger than Jacob. Jacob and Jemma are playmates.
