Ground on Presidents Day

LTCC on Crazy Trousers tour photo 2006.

About LTCC.

Leicestershire Teachers Cricket Club was founded in the late 1940s. We have our own ground and club house. At one time all our players were teachers but now over 50% of the playing members are not teachers. New members are welcome, whether they are new to the game or experienced players. The club has a policy of trying to fit everyone in. We play all club games rather than league matches. Last season 2005 we played 50 matches, won 28, drew 12 and lost 10.
There are indoor nets at Countesthorpe College on Mondays 8pm till 9pm - starting in January till April. New players very welcome.

There is a club tour to Gloucestershire in the 3rd week of July. 6 matches in 6 days, Sunday to Friday.

Ours is a friendly club with good facilities for players and families. Home Ground:- Cambridge Rd, Whetstone, Leicestershire.

Anyone interested in joining or finding out more about LTCC can contact any of the above people who will be only to pleased to help.

Our club President is (for a 2nd term of office, as he often buys a round of drinks) Mr. Brian Pursglove, once heard never forgotten!
He retires from playing, only between matches. He scored his maiden 50 at Quorn when well past 50 and after 40+ years of playing cricket! Last season he took 11 wickets at an average of 28.27, scored 4 runs at an average of 4 and took 2 catches. This season he took 7 for 35, his first ever 5+ wicket haul at just short of 60 . What an all rounder!
