Kirsten, I (Rachel) and two honorary ladies (my children) went for a Chinese at the Imperial Chef. This is a notoriously good restaurant, though it was empty when we went. There wasn't a special lunchtime menu, so we ordered from the main menu. We had chicken satay, which was wonderful; crispy beef strips in chilli sauce served in a noodle basket which was delicious and country duck which was very good. We had this with plain rice, prawn crackers and chocolate ice cream to follow. It was a very enjoyable meal, though pricey. Along with the meal we had 3 cokes, and it came to £40, which was a bit hefty for a lunchtime treat. Nevertheless the food was excellent! LWL score: 8/10

Rachel and I went to the Bamboo to celebrate the success of this site on its inaugeral outing on the net. We were pleasantly suprised by the quality of service and food. The service is very attentive and professional. We both had duck, Rach had crispy aromatic duck which was skilfully boned in front of her, very impressive! To accompany she had mini pancakes which were lovely. To start I had mini vegetable spring rolls, very nice. For main course I had duck Canton style which I thought was delicious, it was cooked perfectly and was neither greasy nor too tough as is the case in a lot of restaurants offerings of duck. We shared boiled rice and prawn crackers. To top the quality of the food, when we got the bill we found that the main courses were half price as a lunchtime offer! All in all a totally recommendable experience, we hope to re-review this one again soon! LWL Score 9/10 :) Highly recommended
