The Thai Orchid is at 5 Cathedral Yard, Exeter. It is situated in one third of a gorgeous tri-gabled building made famous by the fact that it is one of Exeter's oldest existing buildings. The restaraunt is itself faultless. From the service to the decor and most importantly the food. Myself (Kirsten) & Rachel had green curry and pineapple curry on sticky rice. Its delicious, rich flavouring was a pleasure to eat and gets the LWL rating of 9/10. Our honorary ice-cream reviewer Jasmine had the chocolate ice-cream which she gave 8/10. LWL score: 9/10

I fancied a curry, so an Indian Restaurant was the obvious choice! Kirsten and I were the only people in the restaurant, but that was fine. We had poppodoms and pickles to start, which was good. I had chicken korma and pilau rice, which were as you would expect, though not very hot (heat-wise). Kirsten had chicken tikka and salad, which was ok. The meal was nothing outstanding, but still very good. The whole lot, along with two cokes came to £10 each, which was reasonable. LWL score: 6/10
