| On 9th August 1980, West Ham played at Wembley in the FA Charity Shield. To allow fans to get to the game more easily, special services were laid on from Barking, through to Wembley Park. These were operated by C stocks. Although C stocks used to go to Wembley most days, the journeys were usually late at night, to stable the trains in Neasden depot, and very early in the morning for them to re-enter service on the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines. It was quite unusual to see the trains at Wembley in daylight. |
