The Old Tramway.
This is a fairly flat walk using the lanes around Kington. It is about  1¼ miles long but walks 1 and 2 can be combined to make a longer walk of 2½ miles.  Full details.

 

A Tree Wordsworth Planted.
This walk is about 1¼ miles with one short steep climb. This walk takes takes you to a big stone house called Bywell where it is said that Wordsworth planted the tall Scots pine by the gate. On your return to Kington you use the Offa's Dyke Path.  Full details.

 

With Views from Bradnor.
This walk takes you up Bradnor Hill, National Trust land and home to Kington Golf Club. This walk also takes you past St Mary's Church which is worth a visit.     Full details.

 

Many Beautiful Trees.
Most of this walk is on level ground apart from one steep climb up the lane over Haywood Common. Distance approximately 2½ miles. Full details.

 

Kington – Dunfield – Rushock Hill – Kennel Wood - Rushock, approx 8½ miles.   
This walk includes stretches through woods and fields with short sections on the Mortimer Trail and Offa’s Dyke Path and with a short diversion you can enjoy the views from Herrock Hill (371m). Full details.

 

walk to Gladestry over Hergest Ridge, approx 10½ miles.
This circular walk will take you over Hergest Ridge to Gladestry - a favourite walk of visitors to Kington -returning via lane, bridleway, fields and woods to Kington a distance approximately 10½ miles. It can be adapted to make a shorter walk.   Full details.

 

Ridgebourne Lane, Rowbatch Farm, Hanter Hill, Hergest Ridge, Offas Dyke Path.  
This is a walk from the town centre to Hergest Ridge, taking you in to Wales for a short stretch. It involves  steady climbing but rewards the effort with extensive views. You should allow 2 to 2½ hours.

Offas Dyke Path to the Dyke on Rushock Hill and Return by Little Brampton Scar and Kennel Cottage.
Can be extended to 7½ miles.
This walk takes you up and beyond Bradnor Hill using the ODP and Mortimer Trail.There may be muddy stretches. You should allow approximately 2½ hours.

Foreign Trees, Ancient Oaks, Castle Twt and Kingswood.
This walk combines open fields, lanes and woodland with very little road walking. part of it can be muddy and slippery, and a few sections are quite steep for short distances. You should allow 2 hours.   Full details.

 

The Three Shepherds.  
This walk provides extensive views over the countryside; it involves climbing for 650 feet by moderate stages over a distance of three miles. You should allow approximately 2½ hours.   Full details.
