On this page we will focus on a member’s garden railway to allow you to see just what sort of railways we have within our group. Here are some details and photos of our featured railway. Roger's Gardem railway has three lines that allow a great amount of train running. This railway has come about under very difficult circumstances as the garden has a steep slope to it that required the building of many walls to step the garden down which in turn allows each line to run at a different height. The track is all LGB and is a mix of R2 and R3 curves and uses R3 points that have had motors fitted to. The track is laid on pea shingle base and is still settling in places as the railway ages. It is all operated by the Train Engineer walkabout system that operates the points as well as the trains. As you can some building is still needed to get the railway to its finished state ( If a railway ever gets to that state) but as all money plays a part in this side of things. For more pictures details and to ask Roger himself about his large railway network then please feel free to come along and join us all at http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/gscalemad/
