Bad Karma was formed by Emma in November 1997.They split up in the summer of 2001. She then went on to join various other bands including The Awkwards, The Deviadas, Piston Broke, Baby Karma as well as performing as a soloist and alongside Dusty Valentino.

Emma's first solo gig was @The Loft supporting The Beaker People, Saint Maybe and DJ Del Franklin.
