What is SOFT ?
SOFT is the Support Organization For Trisomy. They offer support, counseling, and information for all families, and doctors, who require it. We discovered them before the doctors referred us to them, and found all the information on their site to be very helpful, easy to read, and informative. We became experts on the subject, and so felt no worries when it came to taking Anastasia home.
To know that there is someone there to help you, offering advice, when you need it is such a relief.
The organisation was set up initially by families who have had Trisomy children. Therefore they know the hardships, and know the reactions people have.

What are they doing ?
As well as offering information, advice, and counseling, they are also working towards heightening the public’s awareness of the conditions. The chance of a Trisomy child is higher than that of many other birth defects, yet no-one has ever heard of them. The reason for this is that only the live births seem to get recorded for statistics, so they don’t seem that common.
They are funded mainly by donations, and are an international organisation.
Without their information, we would have been lost.
