We are the 16th Ramsbottom Brownies and we are part of the Holcombe district which is in Lancashire.

We meet for an hour and a half each Monday night from 6.30 until 8.00. We have 3 sixes called the Kelpies, Leprechauns and the Gnomes. We have between 12-18 Brownies aged from 6 to 9.

We play games, make crafts and work together to gain badges. We follow the three Brownie journeys of the road, footpath and highway.

We go on trips with our district. In December we went to see Aladdin at the Albert Halls in Bolton. It was funny and we really enjoyed it.
Before that we went on a campfire at Ashworth Valley which raised money for charity. We had to sing songs and there was a best carved pumpkin competition.

We are looking forward to thinking day on February 22nd. This is when we think about Brownies from all over the world. February 22nd is the birthdays of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell who founded the brownies and scouts and that is why February 22nd is thinking day.

At the moment our leaders are Mrs Nash (Brown Owl), Lorraine (Tawny Owl) and Kim. The Brownies are Izzy, Steph, Bethany, Hannah, Anna, Hannah, Rebecca, Louis, Megan, Ashleigh and Lugia, but after Easter Mini-Kim(as she will be christened), Charlotte and Jessica are joining us from the rainbows

In 1908 Robert Baden Powell was asked to write a book for boys and he produced "Scouting for Boys". This was read by a handful of girls, who in 1909, calling themselves "Girl Scouts" joined with 11,000 Boy Scouts at the Rally held at the Chrystal Palace in London. Soon after, in 1910 the Girl Guide Movement was adapted for girls, and it grew and grew.

We used to have a Brownie and Guide group, but now we have Brownies and Rainbows both called 16th Ramsbottom. We are 2 fairly small packs but we have lots of fun. If you would like to join us, or just come for a visit we are located at Holcombe Brook and if you e-mail me I will give you more details.

My name is Kim and I made this site, I am 8 and been one of the leaders of this pack for 5 years now. Thank you to Alex (Kingy) who helped me with this site and made the brownie banner on the first page, I really appreciate it and I owe you one. Please visit his site http://alrighty.net and he might do you a favour(!)
